Liftid "Felix Culpa" Lyrics

Liftid "Felix Culpa" Lyrics

1. Came to My Limit

Came to my limit

Didn’t realize I was caged in a prison

Be he came and delivered

Buried in the grave now I’m raised with the living

Made him my vision

How could I not, when I’m made in his image?

Played in the scrimmage, now I’m in the game

With a little bit of faith and his grace

And some bass and a mission (X2)

I found myself at the end of myself

Gotta be bankrupt to receive his wealth

Pearl with a price

Nothing’s worth more than him giving his life

He’s breaking my fall

But what’ll it take to break and then call?

Stalling in place, then fall on my face?

Tolerate sin then I’m caught in disgrace?

I don’t wanna be the one to read about it

And not be about it

Ain’t no time to beat around it either

Evil’s creepin ‘round here

My power is limited

I would be giving in

If not for the infinite living in me

With the Spirit I’m free

Came to my limit

Didn’t realize I was caged in a prison

Be he came and delivered

Buried in the grave now I’m raised with the living

Made him my vision

How could I not, when I’m made in his image?

Played in the scrimmage, now I’m in the game

With a little bit of faith and his grace

And some bass and a mission (X2)

I am a product of sovereign providence over my story

Even my flaws and sin though appalling it’s all working for me

Like the prophets could foresee

The fall and it’s folly

Became the cause of the cross

And now we can see it was all for his glory!

Came to my limit

Didn’t realize I was caged in a prison

Be he came and delivered

Buried in the grave now I’m raised with the living

Made him my vision

How could I not, when I’m made in his image?

Played in the scrimmage, now I’m in the game

With a little bit of faith and his grace

And some bass and a mission (X2)

2. The Gift of Desperation

Make haste

Will you please

Come and save me

From me

While I’m down

On my knees

Come quickly now

Done saying I’m fine

I can’t fake it and lie

Like a break in my spine

I am falling

There’s something here

Inside of me

It’s deeper

Than what I can say

The spirit groaning

When I pray

Lord, do not delay!

I can see now

I need you

To give me life

Desperation is a gift

When you open your eyes

I am humble and needy

So don’t hide when you see me

I will give myself freely

If you’ll make me yours

You’re the bread

That can feed me

Give the yoke

If it’s easy

For as long as I’m breathing

And forevermore

I had to die

So I could raise

The only way

That I would praise

The one that’s over all my days

Yes, I have been saved!

I can see now

I need you

To give me life

Desperation is a gift

When you open your eyes

May all who seek you

Rejoice and be glad

I’ve made my decision

I’ve planted my flag

I would have it all

If you’re all that I had

So I give you all that I have

I can see now

I need you

To give me life

Desperation is a gift

When you open your eyes

3. Can’t Let Go

Why do we go back?

Why do we ALWAYS go back?

We know it won’t satisfy

But we still feel like we have to try

Like maybe time will be different

But I can see crime in the distance

Why does my mind get so twisted

It’s sitting in front of my eyes when I miss it

I’m sicker than sick but I’m fixin’ to kick it

If it weren’t for pride I’d admit I’m addicted

Led through the water you said that we’re free

So why aren’t we willing to be

When I’m hungry I freak

I still want the meat

Even if it means I’m pharaoh’s to beat

How long are we willing to be

In the wilderness feeling the heat

Like a dog to his vomit

I’m back to feed upon it

Has my heart been so hardened

That I can’t feel my conscience

How will I ever make it to the land of your promise

I’m trusting your promise

We made bricks

We laid them down

When he said let my people go

We still looked back

We can’t let go (X2)

Maybe it wasn’t so bad

When trouble was all that I had

No matter the feeling I had in my gut

Back to cistern, I’m filling it up

Watching it drain to the floor

Can’t you see that I need MORE MORE MORE

LET ME HAVE YOURS

COME ON I’LL PAY YOU BACK

YEA OF COURSE

(JUST OPEN THE DOOR)

What happened to integrity

I’m living in the dark

And expecting the light will never see

Confession is the remedy

But will I ever be done with the enemy

I’m looking for the 12 and the 70

Will I ever be…

In the land of promise

I need the bread

I need the water

I need the rock

I need God

If I’m ever really gonna stop

(Am I gonna stop?)

Like a dog to his vomit

I’m back to feed upon it

Has my heart been so hardened

That I can’t feel my conscience

How will I ever make it to the land of your promise

I’m trusting your promise

We made bricks

We laid them down

When he said let my people go

We still looked back

We can’t let go (X2)

4. In the Day of My Trouble

(I don’t even know what to say…)

I don’t even have any words

So I cry

Crying aloud

Father, can you hear me?

I’m in trouble, clearly

This is so hard

Please don’t be far

Be near me

(Are you near me?)

I can’t sleep

I can’t speak

My hands reach

To the sky

Asking why did this happen to me?

Have I done something to deserve this?

Is there a purpose

For this suffering I’m cursed with?

Have you

Forgotten

Your promises

For all time?

Are you

Still Gracious?

Has your patience

Drained for my kind?

Are you lacking compassion?

Sorry, I’m just asking

Isn’t that an appropriate reaction

When I’m backed into a corner

Mourning until the day is dawning

Speak, please

The silence is haunting

I don’t even know what to say

I don’t even know what to pray

I don’t even know if you’re the same

So I just lay awake

Day and night

Afraid that I’m right

(I don’t even know what to say…)

In the day of my trouble

To what shall I appeal?

I’ll scour my mind

To remember what is real

(What is real?)

I remember when I slept on the sidewalk

Itching for a hit

The only thing that made my mind stop

I hated you while debating

To say you don’t exist

But I still looked to sky in my pride

Shaking my fist

I was a thief, hater, manipulator and liar

But you saved me, and gave me a life instead of the fire

I’ll remember

What you did for me

You died but to rise up in victory

I’ll remember

You revealed the mystery

The gospel that changed human history

I’ll remember

You’re condescension

You were made low

Before the ascension

I’ll remember

Even in the tension

For your might works

Are too many to mention!

When I don’t even know what to say

And I don’t even know what to pray

Still I will praise

You’re worthy always

My days and nights were changed

By your grace

When you gave me your life

(I don’t even know what to say…)

5. Stained

I had a stain

No matter what I tried

Still it remained

Afraid so I hide

To cover the shame

But wearing a mask

Just won’t last

If my past

Can outlast me

I am a fiend

Can’t even recall

When I was clean

Born into the fall

You’ve already seen

All of my sin

While I crawl in my skin

I carry the blame

As a transgressor

Don’t send me away

I know I’m not right

Spirit is broken and contrite

I know that I have done

What is evil in your sight

I am a worm

Who am I

That you would be so concerned?

When I was in the dirt

You heard me

Even though it’s you that I was hurting

So purge me

According to your mercy

I have a stain

Over my sin

Washed it away

Left by the Son

Who came to take my blame

Naked and maimed

humiliated and shamed

To save me

Nailed to a tree

Received our curse

As the worst would be

The cup wasn’t taken

He was forsaken

Partaking in death

To remake his creation

The kingdom is nigh

We all need a king

Who has suffered and died

Atonement was made

The debt has been paid

A ransom for many

His glory displayed

His blood is the wine

Come and take a drink

And be sober in mind

The savior is inclined

To erase all your crimes

Embrace him through faith

And you’ll be made alive

6. When He Died

Long ago a prophet told a story written on a scroll

So all would know the providence of God in how the plot unfolds

He’s watching for the moment that he made

From the garden where he prayed

And was betrayed for the price of a slave

He scripted it, depicted and predicted it’d come

So that we would that he was from the infinite one

The gift of the Son, given at the fullness of time

When he died the pages came alive

When he came and rode before the day

They shouted Hosanna for Messiah to come and save

Quoted from a psalm they were singing for giving praise

For the one that would come bearing the name

What he claimed

When he said they would see him riding the clouds

So they would understand that he ain’t the average son of man

It was the plan from the beginning to be given over

Only after he showed he was the last Passover

Prophecy given is finally filling to full now

Lies and derision ain’t stopping the mission

A full crowd watching and listening

While at the place of the skull now

Taught by the wish of his sovereign decision

Apocalyptic visions come to fruition so don’t miss it

The apostles were locked in to witness

To give this description, kept and transmitted

“It was all to fulfill what was written”

He scripted it, depicted and predicted it’d come

So that we would know that he was from the infinite one

The gift of the Son, given at the fullness of time

When he died the pages came alive

May have taken clothes and casted lots

But when he cried out from the cross

It didn’t mean that he lost

Paid the cost and called out, “why have you forsaken me?”

So they would see

He gave by his own agency

He was despised and rejected and well acquainted with grief

Reviled until he was recognized by a thief

He didn’t leave his people to a pair of dice

He beared the lies so we could meet in paradise

Lies and derision ain’t stopping the mission

A full crowd watching and listening

All at the place of the skull now

7. CHAMPION

Champion

He’s the Champion

Already won everything that can be won (X2)

He died

To rise up in victory

Look what he did for me

He stayed

With them 40 days

To prove he was raised

Taken way up in the clouds

To the right hand

That’s where he sat down

Sitting in position in the heavenly places

Where everything that’s created and every name is

Under his authority and everyone is gonna be

Bowing the knee

The powers defeated

How could they beat him now?

No opposition or competition

Could stop the risen conqueror’s mission

All dominion belongs to him

To abolish sin

With no politicking or hollow wisdom

So follow him

With all that you’ve got to give him

Already winning now

All of his enemies in the ground

Because he found us a remedy

And just like a third of them fell

Without him I’d be burning in…

The lamb and the lion

Decided that death will be dying

His people will be with him, flying

In the sky when he’s taking us all back to Zion

If he sits on the throne

That don’t mean you’re ever alone

Know that he’s bringing you home

He’s growing the seed that was sown

He’s the mediator

Guilt absorbing shame taker

Blame erasing

New name proclaiming

And incarnated saving creator

Son went up

The Spirit came down

Every language made the same sound

In his name salvation breaks out

We ain’t the same now

He came to break ground

On a new earth, but the truth hurts

Without him we would go back to dirt

He can remake you through a new birth

Because he’s the one that stepped out the tomb first

8. One Lord

From the start he dropped the game

While the nations plot in vain

Power and humility on display

On the cross, now the world is not the same

We’re the body and he’s the head

Living through the flesh that we’ve been fed

Freed the dead while his enemies seeing red

He chose not to fight but to bleed instead

He’s the only legend that can rise above the lore

He’s the only one that could absorb my flaws

We all need him

He’s the reason that we’re breathing

But there’s only one Savior, one Lord

Tell me, who’s yours?

He’s the image of the invisible

Seated at the right hand, invincible

Over all he is preeminent

He was the seed that heaven sent

The serpent under his heel

Took the bite that so we could all heal

Revealed the mystery to show us what’s real

He could feel for the Lord’s house pouring out zeal

He’s the only one that could fulfill the law

He’s the only one that could absorb my flaws

Bow the knee or be conceding cosmic treason

Because there’s only one savior, one Lord

Tell me, who’s yours?

The firstborn before it all

Restored what we had before the fall

Sinners acquitted in the court of law

By the innocent one who bore it all

On the third day he gave the sign

To be saved there is no other name to find

On the day when he comes to fray the sky

We’ll awake, raised to reign alive

He’s the only legend that can rise above the lore

He’s the only one that could absorb my flaws

We all need him

He’s the reason that we’re breathing

But there’s only one Savior, one Lord

Tell me, who’s yours?

9. Praying and Waiting

Can’t even count how many times I’ve prayed for you

Seems like no matter how much faith I have, I still can’t make it true

And now you’ve got a sickness you won’t make it through

I’ve never seen these waters that I’m wading through

I pray that you’ll be saved but I’m afraid you’ll die first

And not the good death, instead you never would rest

You’ve heard me preach the gospel, you were sitting in the pews

And didn’t know what I was saying was meant directly for you

And now it’s even more imperative

To say there’s still time to leave a spiritual heritage

Words can’t describe how much I’d cherish it

More valuable than a billion dollar inheritance

It’s embarrassing the way I treated you

But I’m different now, you’ve seen what Jesus can do

And he could do the same for you

You can call on Christ

He’ll give you eternal life

Before you pass away, Dad

Oh, my Father

Can you hear?

I know your end is near

I’m praying and waiting

In the moment of my fear

Until it disappears

I’m praying and waiting

I’m praying

I’m praying

I’m praying for you

Can’t even count how many times I’ve prayed to you

Seems like no matter how much faith I have, you still won’t make it true

And I admit sometimes I get frustrated

When you don’t act even though I just prayed it

Why can’t you just pay it?

What my father owes you

I know I was chosen long before I chose you

You made my heart a living water fountain

But doesn’t feel like I can really move a mountain

I’m a son

Appealing to the Father

On behalf of my Father

To be saved by the son

But when the day comes

I know one thing’s for sure

You’ll be the same God that you always were before

Gracious, merciful, infinitely forgiving

For all who are sinning but will call on the risen

It was always your mission

To seek and save the lost

There’s no debt so great, that you won’t pay the cost

Oh, my Father

Can you hear?

I know his end is near

I’m praying and waiting

In the moment of my fear

Until it disappears

I’m praying and waiting

I’m waiting

I’m waiting

I’m waiting on you

10. Grateful

(Yeah, gotta stay grateful, name is written in the book of life, check it…)

Way back when I met you, Lord

I knew you’d never let me go

Giving me everything I never knew I needed

And treating me like a friend even when I didn’t believe it

Even when I was an enemy you readily went to the cross

Everything I ever had I count as loss

I’m the offspring of Abraham

Now I take a stand on the firm foundation

Living by faith, only by grace

Never earn salvation

You burnt down hatred and replaced it with love

Now I’m taking it up and denying myself

I’m nothing anyways if I’m denying your help

Because I need you

Let me soak in your blood until it bleeds through

Until they don’t see me, they see you

(Yeah, it’s all about you, you, you

Just want to be like a window that they look through and see you

And all of your beauty in salvation)

All I can do is trust in your faithfulness

Praying everyday that you’ll forsake me not

That’s why I keep texting out my grateful list

Because I’m grateful

Even when it’s painful, you paid for me

Man, I’m overtaken

By the gospel, do you know the statement?

I’m going to be bold and say it

To all the world, because HE overcame it

JESUS SAVES

Every sinner, trust in him

And you will be delivered

Come with me

If you want to see a man

That has been redeemed

I got victory

Because he’s got me like a father and son

Adopted me when I was off on the run

Died for me so I’d be counted among

The children of God through the begotten one

I was an embarrassment

Now I’ve got an inheritance

So I’m going to cherish it

Because he earned the right for me

With eternal life there won’t be no perishing

(Yeah there won’t be no perishing

Talking about eternal life, talking about eternal life, come on…)

All I can do is trust in your faithfulness

Praying everyday that you’ll forsake me not

That’s why I keep texting out my grateful list

Because I’m grateful

Even when it’s painful, you paid for me (X2)

You paid for me, yeah you paid for me

You paid for me, so I stay grateful

Know what I’m saying?

11. The Depths

I was down so low

For so long

He loves saving

Yes he does

What a Savior

There’s a paradox in providence

Sometimes it violates my common sense

When life’s intense and I’m in the depths

And it’s too dark to even see my steps

I’m not impressive, far too wretched

Ran so long in the wrong direction

And it might seem odd

But when I’m at my lowest I feel closest to God

Before I knew the good Father

All I could do was try harder

Now I pay homage, not in bondage

Even though I still smell like vomit

Your promise will stand

When I walk in the sand

Little did I know it was in your divine plan

To swallow me then spit me back out on the dry land

Thought I was too low to see

With the waves crashing over me

But your hand was still holding me

Lifting me up to where I’m supposed to be

When it’s the darkest, that’s when your close to me

Taking my heart, tearing it open

Revealing the places where healing is needed

And letting me feast on your grace like a meal

And I’m feeling so free, this life ain’t for me

Body and soul I belong to the 3 in 1

Son in me and I in him

Revived within, given life but died to sin

So I begin every day

Thanking the one that had mercy on me

Clung to the one that loves me always

So check my tongue, what’ll come is all praise

I was down so low

For so long

He loves saving

Yes he does

What a Savior

I became his, he became mine

United with the one who’s alive for all time (X4)

I was down so low

For so long

He loves saving

Yes he does

What a Savior

12. Reach Across the Sky

(Show me how to reach across the sky

Give me peace of mind

I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna die…)

Death was not defeat

You were raised to life

On the 8th day of the week

The maker wasn’t through

You were just waiting

Until you made something new

This is what we testify

If you weren’t resurrected

Then all of it is a lie

But you did in fact

Get up out the grave

So our faith is intact

Like a seed in the ground

We will be raised

When we hear the horn sound

Ever since our first breath

We have all been waiting

For the day we face death

Enslaved by the fear

Wondering where to turn

When it draws near

Who can we trust

For what’ll come next

When we return to the dust

But because Christ reigns

Death will one day die

We will see you in the sky

When every eye will see

And every knee will bow

You are living in your people

We can see you even now

First you had to come down

Left a throne for a manger

Our own creator

Exposed to danger

In the throws of anger

We nailed you to a tree

Now we’re back to chapter three

It was your plan from the start

That’s why eternity

Is written in our heart

What’s wrong is made right

When you come to take us

Like a thief in the night

You are faithful to give

Awake or asleep

You have made us to live

So we hold fast to the truth

No one comes to the Father

Except through you

(Show me how to reach across the sky

I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna die

Show me how to reach across the sky

Why don’t you just put your hand in mine

Just put your hand in mine

Show me how to reach across the sky

Give me peace of mind

I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna die…)

“Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭12‬-‭14‬
